Volunteer Information

Volunteers provide families and our community with the opportunity to enrich the education of students. They are vital to student success in Omaha Public Schools. Our district is looking for dedicated parents and community volunteers to fill various roles, including supporting student learning, mentoring, chaperoning field trips, and coaching our student athletes.
Anyone interested in volunteering at our schools must complete an application process. Applicants must be 18 years of age. We want this to be a rewarding experience for you. Your involvement makes a difference! When community members dedicate their time, students develop academically, socially and emotionally. Even just a few hours can have a significant impact!
Ready to Volunteer?
- Contact the school to discuss a volunteer opportunity.
- Complete the volunteer application online via SchoolSpring.
- The building principal reviews the volunteer activity request.
- Talent Services communicates the status of request via email.
- Volunteer activity can begin AFTER approval email is received from Talent Services
- Volunteers must follow Omaha Public Schools Board Policy and volunteer guidelines.
A new volunteer application must be completed for each school year. Even if you volunteered the previous school year, you must reapply for the upcoming school year.
